Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 370 and lightly spray the basket for nonstick if needed. Set up a 'dredging' area by setting two shallow bowls side by side. A shallow dish or pan may works for the second area instead of using a bowl. In a mixing bowl, use a fork or a whisk to blend together the flour, baking powder and seasonings. Next, add the egg and then the milk (or beer) to the bowl and mix. We will divide the mixed contents of this by transferring half of this mixture to the first shallow bowl in our dredging area for the first batch. When your first shallow bowl runs low you can add the remaining mixture to it to use later. Now in the second shallow bowl, or dredging area, place your bread crumbs. Take the first slice of onion and fully cover it with the contents of the first bowl- using a dredging technique. Shake the onion slice out over the bowl. Then dip or dredge the onion slice through the bread crumbs. Crushing the crumbs up can help them stick a bit better if they seem to fall off easily. Place the covered slices of onion into the fryer basket, being careful to not overlap if possible. When the first shallow dredging bowl runs out of its contents, simply refill it with the leftovers from the mixing bowl. Air fry the onion rings for 8 minutes and then flip them over. Continue to air fry for another 8 minutes or until done.
